Bob Osborne
invited members to join in a tour of orchards and farms in Central Rhode Island
on September 21st . Six people/4 Model A
s arrived at Orchard Farm School to start the tour at one o’clock. The weather was perfect – a sunny, breezy
early fall day! We visited four orchard
Farms starting with Knights arm. We started out towards the field where people
were picking apples, but all decided about the same time we’d rather watch
other people do that! And we did! From there, we went caravan-style to the
Barden Family Orchard. We wandered
through the farm shop to sample wares and crowd watch. Then it was on to the Dame Farm & Orchard
in Snake Den State Park. Gorgeous
flowers, veggies and fruit! The last
stop was Confreda Farms where those who wanted to had a snack before heading
for home. A really nice outing!
