2012 New England Meet

The 56th New England Meet was sponsored by the Pine Tree A's of Maine.  The event was held at the Point Lookout Resort in Northport Maine on September 21,22,23.
The weather could have cooperated a little better, but there were no out and out downpours.  The tour to the Owls Head Museum was the only issue, since fine point blue ribbon judging was done in a foggy mist, which also prevented the vintage aircraft based at the museum from flying.
The resort consists of main buildings where the meals were served, and the hospitality room was located, and a network of rustic though well appointed cabins for accommodations.  Every cabin had Model A Fords parked in front, looking like a page from an old photo album. (See Photo)
Members of Little Rhody who attended included:

Charlie and Pat Howard              Ken and Carol Trudel
John and Dawn Mennucci            David Peck and Joyce Armstrong
John and Shirley Leite                 John and Dottie Cece
Domenic and Susan Mosca           Dennis and Ed Allsop
Ed and Pat Avedisian                  Richard and Joan Mowry

Charlie Howard won a first place award in the 1931 closed class, as well as the best of show.
Ken Trudel won a first place award in the 1928/29 closed class.

Stowe Car Show 2012

Regulars to the Stowe show expect a little rain, but this year gave us a few years worth.  Turnout of both cars and vendors was down due to the rain and threat of rain.  The Stowe show is an annual favorite however, and the quality cars were there.
Two Little Rhody members took trophies home, Ken Trudel took a first in 28' 29' Model A with his 29 Leather Back, and John Mennucci took a second in 30' 31' Model A closed with his 30 Tudor.
Little Rhody members who attended the show included John  and Dawn Mennucci, Ken and Carol Trudel, John and Dottie Cece, Dennis Allsop, and Bob and Evie Osborne.
The following pictures tell the story.

Purgatory Chasm "Just Because" Run

At the recent club picnic, Bob and Evie Osborne announced a little just for the heckuvit run to Purgatory Chasm on July 28 2012.  The turnout was small, due to it being scheduled on a busy summer weekend, and the fact that poor weather was predicted.
Those of us who did attend were rewarded with good touring weather through the Northwest corner of RI into Mass.  Bob and Evie routed us through perfect "Model A" backroads, ending at the picnic area of the Chasm.
We had an informal meeting to talk about plans for the upcoming Little Rhody 50th anniversary party, and a great picnic lunch.
Attendees included:
Bob and Evie Osborne
Charlie and Pat Howard
John and Dottie Cese
Richard and Joan Mowry
John and Dawn Mennucci
Al and Eleanora Paolantonio

2012 Summer Picnic

Picnic 2012 was as good as a mid July day can be.  We got together at the Otter Pond Farm in Green RI , where we had chowder and clamcakes for lunch, followed by car games, and then a chicken dinner with all the fixins.
Richard Mowry conducted the car games, assisted by Dennis Allsop, and all the usual suspects were in attendance, and amused.
The following pictures tell the story.
