The 56th New England Meet was sponsored by the Pine Tree A's of Maine. The event was held at the Point Lookout Resort in Northport Maine on September 21,22,23.
The weather could have cooperated a little better, but there were no out and out downpours. The tour to the Owls Head Museum was the only issue, since fine point blue ribbon judging was done in a foggy mist, which also prevented the vintage aircraft based at the museum from flying.
The resort consists of main buildings where the meals were served, and the hospitality room was located, and a network of rustic though well appointed cabins for accommodations. Every cabin had Model A Fords parked in front, looking like a page from an old photo album. (See Photo)
Members of Little Rhody who attended included:
Charlie and Pat Howard Ken and Carol Trudel
John and Dawn Mennucci David Peck and Joyce Armstrong
John and Shirley Leite John and Dottie Cece
Domenic and Susan Mosca Dennis and Ed Allsop
Ed and Pat Avedisian Richard and Joan Mowry
Charlie Howard won a first place award in the 1931 closed class, as well as the best of show.
Ken Trudel won a first place award in the 1928/29 closed class.
