Archie Project 05/21/14

The “Archie Project” is going full steam ahead. We are meeting on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 PM (weather permitting) On May 21st, the first session of Bob Osborne's "Archie Project" was held at Charlie & Pat Howards, on Hatchery Road in North Kingstown. The engine head having been removed, revealed better than expected conditions. The ridges on cylinders were not bad and all valves appeared to be in fair to good condition. On Archie’s back side, the rear end has been removed revealing a broken main spring leaf. We plan on removing the two transmissions next. Bob went to Tam’s Thursday and an engine gasket set was purchased along with carburetor gaskets and distributor parts. Ten men showed up for a very productive session. We all look forward to our next session on Wednesday, 5/28/14 @ 5:30pm **If anyone would like to come and join the fun or have any questions about the “Archie Project” please call Bob Osborne @ 401-397-7725 or 401-580-7721 All members are welcome. All input, hints, shortcuts, and/or suggestions are appreciated. If you're not able to physically work on the project, please come anyway and join in on the fun.

2014 Dustoff Tour

In spite of the "iffy" weather, the 2014 tour was a great success.  Including members and guests, we had 41 attendees, and 13 Model A's.  There were 6 other special interest cars as well.  We started at the fire watch tower in N. Kingston, and wound our way through rural southern Rhode Island. We stopped at the light house at Point Judith, and passed under the Coast Guard towers in Narragansett.  We ended the tour at the Mariner's Grille in Narragansett for lunch, our monthly meeting, and The Blessing of the Cars by Reverend Marilyn Ricci.
The day was cold and raw, and ended with rain showers, but we all had a great time as usual.  The food at the Mariner's Grill was phenomenal...a great way to end the day.

Karl Nagy
1934-2014

Karl was a long time member of Little Rhody,
and attended club events with his Model T,
often making our Model A's look bad.
Karl passed away while working on his T,
doing what he liked the most.
We will miss his presence at our events,
a piece of the hobby that is irreplaceable.

Pot Luck Supper, 2014

The Winter blahs are nearing an end for this year, so time for a parting shot in the form of a pot luck supper.
As at all Little Rhody food themed events, there were plenty of great choices for the betterment of our waistlines.  We took a few pictures which are included for your enjoyment, we attempted to eat all the food and deserts, but not a chance.  We had to settle on just having a fun evening with our fellow Model A enthusiasts.
Enjoy the pictures, and as always click on a photo to enlarge.
