Christmas 2013
We had awarded the Carol Hathaway Burns trophy to Richard and Joan Mowry, and the Herb Allen award to Bob and Evy Osborne, and had given the Toys for Tots contributions to the Navy representative, (Richard Mowry), when Santa made his appearance...did he ever. Seems that his trousers were somehow loosened during the sleigh ride to Twin Oaks, and decided to drop to the floor while Santa was greeting attendees.
Oh well, the party was slowing down a little by then, but got interesting in a hurry.
Thanks for the success of the party to:
Paula Taylor for the centerpieces and favors,
Richard Mowry for his help with Toys fer Tots,
Pat Howard for organizing,
Dawn Mennucci for Speech and Awards,
Pat Beauchaine for the blessing,
John Mennucci for Christmas music and photos,
All the club members who supported the club with their attaendance,
And especially Santa, (Kenny McDevitt) for the underwear demonstration.
Enjoy the photos, and remember, click on a photo to enlarge.

Eleanora Paleantonio 1932 - 2013
In memory of Eleanora Paolantonio, who will always be remembered by Little Rhody members as a fun loving supporter of any activity the club engaged in. Eleanora, together with husband Al could always be found enjoying club events together. She will be missed at meetings, events, and especially in the hearts of all the Little Rhody members who knew her.
John and Dawn
Sadly, Al followed Eleanora's passing in November of 2013 to his eternal reward on October 6, 2014. Al was a longtime club member, who along with Eleanora, was a strong supporter of Little Rhody, and devoted to the preservation of his beloved 1930 Model A Deluxe Roadster. The club will miss the presence of Al and Eleanora at our car events and social gatherings. Our prayers will be eternally with them.

Richard's Ice Cream Run
Richard Mowry decided that we needed a
fall fun run with a reward. He couldn't have chosen a better
destination, and the reward was ICE CREAM!!
We met up at our usual junction of Rts. 102 and 14. From there we took
country roads to Buttonwood Ice Cream stand in Griswold Connecticut.
The ice cream is homemade, and in many flavors. The whipped cream is
almost as thick as the ice cream, making sundaes amazing.
As the pictures show, the weather was perfect, and fall colors were starting to "pop".
Enjoy the photos.

Gibby's Sugar House, Sept. 25th, 2013
Gibby’s Spring Hill Sugar House in Richmond, RI
A group of several of Little Rhody Model A Club members and
their cars made their way to Gibby’s Spring Hill Sugar House in Richmond, RI on
September 25th, 2013. We
lined up at Wawaloam School on route 102 in Exeter.
About a mile from the school, Bob Osborne pulled off the
road at the Old Exeter Town Hall– most people thought he was just stopping to
take pictures of the Model A in front of the historic building. The group continued on and parked in the usual
place at the farm. When the Osbornes did not arrive in good order, Ray and Charlie
went looking for them and found that something that could not be adequately
investigated or fixed was wrong with the car. Interestingly, Sparky was just driving
by and also stopped to assist. But to no
avail! So, alas, the car, Osborne’s Anna, was towed home. The hard luck
story will continue at the next meeting….
The WEATHER was fabulous for the annual event and the attendance
reflected that.
The Osbornes came back to the farm and joined the Howards,
the Cece’s, the Moscas, Tim and Mrs. Ruth Strickland, the Bowders, Ray and Rosalie
Pagliarini, David Peck and Joyce Armstrong and the Knights for the festivities. At around 1:30, many of the group went to the
Homestead Restaurant in Exeter for lunch.
Great fall day!

New England Meet, Hyannis Mass. 2013
The 2013 New England Meet was held at the Cape Cod Resort and Conference Center from the 27th to the 29th of September.
The grounds were beautiful, as was the attached golf course and the food was judged excellent by just about everyone. The weather couldn't have been better, and the Cape Cod scenery was at it's Fall finest.
The tour to the Heritage Museum and Gardens was very interesting to all of us gear heads, as there was a collection of Detroit concept cars from the 50's through the 80's
Little Rhody did well in the judging, taking 3 trophies. Ken Trudel took a 1st in 28-29 closed cars, the Volatiles took a first in 30-31 open, and Charlie Howard won third place in 30-31 close cars.
Attendees included:
Charlie and Pat Howard John and Dottie Cese
Domenic and Susan Mosca Dennis and Edward Allsop
Ed and Pam Avedisian John and Dawn Mennucci
Ken and Carol Trudel Richard and Joan Mowry
Joe and Carole Knight John and Shirley Leite
Matthew Volatile Roger and Jackie Volatile
Albert and Dale Silvia
Enjoy the Pictures!!
