Archie Project - Update 07/30/14 - week 9

Officially week 9!    This week's  session started with an assessment of the rear springs as there were missing leaves when they were rebuilt.  David Peck had some, and offered them to the project - so off came the springs, and the new leaves were placed - easy to say but a big job!  It was accomplished by Dennis, Allan, Charlie and our new team member, Franklin Barker.  Franklin  also helped with  the reattachment of the drive shaft to the second transmission - another task fraught with problems to solve.  The headlights were reinstalled and temp. tested.  Larry Beauchaine  joined the group and assisted  Dennis tackling the steering system.  Dennis  also coached others on the steering system functions and adjustments.  Gene set the pedals in place.  John M and Bob were able to place the fly wheel dust shield plate in tight quarters under the car.  Sue was able to help out with the installation of the headlights and filling the second transmission with lubricant.  Archie ended up back on all four tires, and was started up again this week!  The meal was amazing with Chip Howard doing the grilling of hot dogs and hamburgers, and a plethora of side dishes made by the ladies including potato & pasta salads, cucumber salad, condiments & chips. Jane Howard also contributed to the meal and helped get things set up for serving the crowd.  The desserts were almost too numerous to mention, but included pie, donuts, cookies, brownies, and more!
See the pictures below... enjoy!
